Childhood Cancer Spotlight: EvanMarie

Since September 2025, EvanMarie has shown her family, friends, and indeed everyone she comes into contact with, what the good life really looks like! She was diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma just three months shy of her 3rd birthday. The cancer had spread throughout her body and into her bone marrow before we even knew anything was wrong. Since that first two month hospital admission, through all of the highs and lows of 5 cycles of chemotherapy, major surgery, two bone marrow transplants, proton therapy (radiation), countless scans, blood draws, injections and nasty oral medications, her light has continued to shine so brightly.

With wisdom and courage beyond her years she has faced every new and difficult thing with determination and boundless humor. Even when she’s felt so physically ill and in pain that to speak requires too much effort, a little thumbs up was her way of showing that she has no plans of ever, ever giving up. We have been so grateful to have so many witnesses to her journey. From countless doctors, nurses and other medical professionals, to the many organizations that offer support for families walking a road that feels otherwise would feel quite lonely.

Now, EvanMarie has entered the final stage of her treatment protocol, and though it’s still no walk in the park, she’s seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and bravely enduring immunotherapy treatments. She plans to ring the heck out of that bell in December!
