In Loving Memory of Deni: A True Cancer Warrior and Forever Member of Our Sky High Family

On May 30, 2025, our Sky High for Kids family said goodbye to one of our brightest lights. Deni, a cherished Cancer Warrior, entered His Kingdom after a courageous fight. Though our hearts are broken, we are endlessly grateful for the time we had to know her, love her, and walk alongside her through so many unforgettable moments.

Deni’s journey with Sky High began at the Ronald McDonald House in Houston. We were there serving dinner to the families when our CEO, Brittany, noticed Deni sitting off to the side, a little quiet and reserved. That didn’t stop Brittany from walking right up to say hello. That simple act sparked a bond that would grow into something incredibly special. From that day on, Deni was family.

Our first outing together was a girls day filled with joy and sparkle. We had makeovers at Jentry Kelley Cosmetics, a trip to Build-A-Bear, and ice cream to top it all off. That day set the tone for so many adventures to come. Deni lit up the park when we visited her. She joined us for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the CMT Music Awards thanks to our friends at SMP Supply. She confidently walked the runway in our Ladies Who Brunch fashion show, shining in pieces styled by Itsy Bitszy Boutique. And earlier this year, she wore her very first dress at our Better in Boots fundraiser, radiant as ever.

Deni wasn’t just part of our mission. She was the mission. Her smile, her warmth, and her creativity filled every space she entered. She turned our office into a gallery during art days, brought joy to our events, and even joined Brittany’s own family for her daughter Stevie’s first birthday celebration. Her presence was a true gift that left a mark on every heart she touched.

One of Deni’s final wishes was to be baptized, and several of our team members had the profound honor of witnessing that moment. Her faith never wavered. We were also planning to send her on a dream Disney cruise, one she heartbreakingly never got to take. While our time with her here is over, we find peace in knowing that she is now experiencing a joy greater than we can imagine.

We ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers, especially her mother and her siblings, Corbin and Dixie, as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Deni, thank you for letting us be part of your life. Thank you for your light, your strength, and your endless love. We will carry your spirit in every event, every mission, and every step forward in the fight to end Childhood Cancer. One day, we will dance with you and all of our angels again.
