Cancer Warrior Spotlight: Kanon

Told in the words of his father, Adam:
After weeks of unexplained back-to-back sicknesses, Kanon was diagnosed in January of 2025 at 2 years old with high risk, Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. There were multiple tumors found including a large mass in his abdomen.
He has endured 10 months of chemo as well as multiple surgeries including a heartbreaking 12-hour surgery in an attempt to remove the cancer which had encased his left adrenal gland and other organs. He went through multiple rounds of radiation and currently in the middle of 5 months of weekly hospital stays to receive Dinutuximab, an intravenous immunotherapy medication that has been proven to help prevent the cancer from returning. That will be followed with oral medications and routine clinic visits for blood work to monitor how his body is recovering.

Sky High has been with Kanon since day one, helping with being admitted to Texas Children’s Hospital to supporting him throughout his treatment so far and we couldn’t be more thankful. Kanon’s grandpa (Pops) and Howard Energy, the company he has now retired from, started a childhood cancer benefit with Sky High “Boats on Da Bayou” before Kanon was even born and this has come full circle, which was obviously completely unexpected. Sky High has been an absolute blessing to our family and the reality of this is still hard to believe. Sky High does so much for our children, and we will forever be grateful!
