Childhood Cancer Warrior: Jazzy
In her own words
I am Jazzy A. from New York.
I love to Tik Tok, doing things with my friends and hanging out with my family. I was 9 years old when we found out that I had a Brain Tumor called Medullablastoma. I had to have brain surgery and then treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. It was very scary – Radiation, Chemotherapy, and feeling horrible for months. In 2019, I beat it and for the next 4 years, I was living life Cancer free.
On May 26,2023 I developed bruises all over my body and they did blood work and recognized that the cancer was back in the form of leukemia B cell ALL. I am 14 years old now and back at St. Jude CRH. That was hard to hear and I had to leave my friends.
Two weeks after Chemotherapy started, Sky High for Kids hosted a Carnival at the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Memphis. There was music, crafts, photo booths, games, merchandise and fresh cotton candy and popcorn. All of the kids and their families had so much fun, the energy was amazing. It felt so good to think about something else besides cancer.
This treatment is going to take about 2 years. It stinks but when I am cured and healthy I am going to live a great life.
Thank you Sky High for doing all that you do to help Childhood Cancer patients coast to coast.
