Childhood Cancer Warrior Spotlight: Abby

Written Fall 2025
As the mother of Abby, I’m honored to share the story of one of the bravest little girls I’ve ever known. Abby is almost 3 years old and is full of joy, spunk, and determination. She adores her siblings Lilly and Connor, loves unicorns, music, and playing pretend, and her smile has a way of brightening even the hardest days. She is silly, playful, and incredibly strong.
In August of 2024, Abby was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) with a CNS2. What started as fevers and fatigue quickly turned into a life-changing diagnosis that no parent ever imagines hearing. Since then, Abby has endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, long hospital stays, multiple ports, and a handful of complications
Abby’s journey is still ongoing, and treatment will last at least another year and a half. Through it all, Abby continues to laugh, play, and remind us what true bravery looks like. She is our little warrior, and we are endlessly grateful for the support and love surrounding her as she fights this battle.
2026 Update

Abby is a joyful 4-year-old who loves princesses, glitter, dance parties, and making everyone around her smile. In August 2022, just weeks before her second birthday, she was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) with central nervous system (CNS2) involvement, meaning leukemia cells were found not only in her blood and bone marrow but also in the fluid surrounding her brain and spinal cord. This required additional, intensive treatment to target the leukemia in both her body and central nervous system.

Since her diagnosis, Abby has endured years of chemotherapy, countless procedures, extended hospital stays, life-threatening infections, and more needle pokes than anyone could ever count. Despite the challenges, she continues to face each day with an infectious smile, a playful spirit, and a love for life that inspires everyone she meets.

As Abby nears the end of treatment, her family remains incredibly grateful for the skilled medical teams, unwavering community support, and organizations like Sky High for Kids that walk alongside children facing pediatric cancer. Thank you for being part of that hope and for helping families like ours feel seen, supported, and never alone. We are so grateful!
