THE SCENE: The Revaire in Houston was the recent setting for one of Space City’s most fun and impactful daytime fundraising events. Over 650 of the area’s most notable children’s advocates, sociables, and philanthropists turned out for the ninth annual Sky High For Kids’ Ladies Who Brunch. The day was filled with touching tributes, dazzling fashion, and a seven-figure fundraising haul.
THE VIBE: The brunch-chic attire crowd took the “Garden Party” theme to heart by donning a spectacular mix of floral, metallic, classic, and brightly colored ensembles that created a welcoming environment for all who attended. Patrons began the day with a cocktail hour where guests sipped on champagne and their favorite spirits while perusing an impressively curated 87-item silent auction that included luxury experiences to Deer Valley and a 6.2-CT buttercup scalloped tennis bracelet from RW Fine.
Revelers then took to their seats for the main program. As guests began dining on their delicious brunch items, they were treated to words from event leaders as well as emotional testimonials on how the work of Sky High for Kids has helped families through the cancer journey. Next, came a stunning fashion show courtesy of Alchemia, Modern Marla, and The Isty Bitsy Boutique where Cancer Warriors walked alongside professional models.
The festivities culminated in a spirited and emotional live auction helmed by Sky High For Kids’ founder and CEO Brittany Franklin. The crowd bid on a range of curated packages and experiences including a Labrador Retriever puppy, and a 4-carat diamond tennis choker necklace in 14 karat white gold set along with a Rolex Explorer II “Polar Digital” courtesy of Shaftel diamonds. This capped off a spectacular afternoon of fun and fundraising that those fortunate enough to be a part of will not soon forget.
THE NON-PROFIT: The Sky High for Kids’ Ladies Who Brunch, co-chaired by Jessica Morrison and Logan Lester Tafelski, raised over $1 million for the organization. Proceeds raised from the event will go towards programs aimed at ending pediatric cancer including partnership initiatives with Insipration4 Advanced Research Center at St. Jude and the Pediatric Cancer Immunotherapy Center at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center.
