Support Childhood Cancer Awareness in September

Join Sky High for Kids Mission

It’s a harsh reality: cancer can affect anyone, including children. Are you looking for ways to support families facing this unimaginable challenge? Do you want to understand Childhood Cancer research better? The month of September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, offering an opportunity to learn, support, and advocate for those affected by pediatric cancer and blood disorders.

Our Sky High for Kids team and our partners diligently support children undergoing cancer care and treatment for other life-threatening illnesses. Sky High for Kids aims to bridge gaps in Childhood Cancer treatment by supporting research hubs and clinics. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is about more than just awareness; it’s about taking meaningful action. The goal is to improve the outlook for Childhood Cancer survivors.

Every year, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month highlights children and their families’ challenges. Since 2019, September has been officially recognized as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It is the perfect time to increase cancer awareness and educate yourself.

Our organization provides innovative medical information and support, and also helps fund research. We offer emotional support to those struggling through difficult situations. Let’s explore what this topic truly means and what we can do together to support those affected.

Did you know that Childhood Cancer encompasses more than a single disease?

There are over a dozen major cancer types, with more than a hundred subtypes, that can affect children. What actions can you take during September, and throughout the year, to make a real impact for children diagnosed with cancer?

During the month of September, show your support by wearing gold ribbons, a symbol of hope. You can also attend events, participate in grassroots movements to raise awareness, and donate your time and/or money. Here are some prominent actions you can take:

  • Showing Solidarity: Show your support by using and promoting different products or events during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
  • Raising Awareness: Support all types of Childhood Cancers by using various media platforms to raise cancer awareness in the community.
  • Financial Support: Donate directly to organizations involved in solving childhood illnesses. You can also organize Charity of Choice fundraisers like a lemonade stand in September for kids to help support other kids.

Focusing attention on our youth sends a powerful message. By funding research and providing support, we as a society demonstrate a commitment to solving medical challenges and improving the lives of future generations.
