Sky High for Kids’ 7th Annual Buckeye for Sky High with TF Warren Banquet and Golf Tournament: A Record-Breaking Success in the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer raising over $1.4 Million.
In October, Sky High for Kids reached a monumental milestone at its 7th Annual Buckeye for Sky High Banquet and Golf Tournament, held at The Omni PGA Frisco Resort on October 10th and 11th, 2024. In partnership with Buckeye Partners and the TF Warren Group, this extraordinary event raised a record-breaking $1,421,887 to support children battling Pediatric Cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The event began with a banquet where over 170 guests gathered for an evening of philanthropy and celebration. The reception, elegant dinner, and inspiring program highlighted Sky High for Kids’ ongoing dedication to finding a cure for Childhood Cancer. A particularly touching moment came when Cancer Warrior Colton spoke to the audience, delivering a profound speech that left everyone in awe of his strength and bravery, especially as a 15-year-old boy. A video showcasing Colton’s journey also played, further emphasizing the impact of the event. Additionally, a video message from Rick Shadyac, President & CEO of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – ALSAC, was shared with attendees, further inspiring those present.
The evening reached its pinnacle with a spirited live auction, where nine exclusive packages were auctioned off, receiving enthusiastic bids from generous supporters. Major sponsors, including Consolidated, ESDC, NGL Supply Co. Ltd., and Simpson & Brown Inc., along with over 40 other companies, helped make the event a tremendous success.
For the first time in Sky High history, the entire Sky High for Kids Executive Board was present, adding to the significance of the event. The following day, 120 golfers teed off for a day of camaraderie and charity on the fairways. The event concluded with an awards luncheon, where the spirit of giving continued to shine.
This year’s record-breaking achievement of raising $1,421,887 was a testament to the generosity of Buckeye Partners, who, over the past seven years, have raised millions of dollars to support Sky High’s mission. Brittany Hebert Franklin, CEO and Founder of Sky High for Kids, expressed her deep gratitude for Buckeye Partners and TF Warren Group’s dedication, highlighting the profound impact their support has had on the lives of Cancer Warriors and their families.
The success of this year’s event underscores the unwavering commitment and generosity of everyone involved, and the funds raised will directly benefit children and families in need. With over $6.8 million raised to date, this event continues to be a shining example of community commitment in the fight against Childhood Cancer and in providing hope to families in need.
